Ronin - The Wave without a Shore
SUMMARY:
In ancient Japan, being a Ronin 浪⼈ meant living on the fringes of society, marked by dishonor and isolation. A young masterless samurai wanders in a rigid and hierarchical world, battling not only the loss of his role but also his inner demons. Lost and tormented, he embarks on an introspective journey in search of an authentic existence, finally choosing a destiny free from the patterns and expectations imposed by society.

The Art of Taiko
Vibration is the essence of life, the primordial beat that resonates within each of us.
SUMMARY:
The Art of Taiko is a sonic and emotional journey that takes the audience into the power and depth of the Japanese drum.
Since ancient times, the taiko has been more than just a musical instrument: its sound echoed in sacred ceremonies, battlefields and festivals, with the belief that each strike was capable of shaking not only the earth but also the human soul.
In Japanese mythology, the thunder god beat on his drum to unleash lightning and storms, symbolizing the primordial force of nature. Similarly, the rhythm of taiko echoes the beating of the heart, connecting the listener to an ancient universal energy.
The Art of Taiko celebrates this tradition through a performance that blends technique, power, and deep expressiveness. The sound of the drum becomes a language without words. Each stroke is a reminder of the essence of music, born from percussion itself, humanity’s first sound art form.
Through the skill and passion of the Yahiro brothers, The Art of Taiko is an invitation to rediscover sound in its purest and most ancestral form: a wave of energy that overwhelms, excites and connects.

SUMMARY:
In this extraordinary fusion, the narrative unfolds around the figure of a lost wanderer, a prisoner of a strict and hierarchical universe, who is confronted not only with the weight of his fate, but with his own inner demons.
These demons, chained by the vibrant power of the taikos, are made visible by the skillful hand of Adrenalink who transmute sound into image.
The performance becomes a cathartic rite, where every beat of the drum merges with the artistic vision, generating a unique sensory experience. Invisible yet powerful sound waves take concrete form in a slowly revealing work of art, giving the audience tangible evidence of an intense aesthetic and spiritual metamorphosis.
At the end of the performance, the invisible becomes visible, and what was ethereal and intangible crystallizes into a final work on paper, an indelible sign of a connection between sound, vision and soul.

Metamorphosis
(Taiko and Theater)
SUMMARY:
Ovid’s Metamorphoses is a classic text of extraordinary relevance, exploring the unstable and illusory nature of reality. In this fluid world, the unambiguous definition of nature, life and man is not only anti-historical, but impossible. The essence of the human is to be found in the ambiguous, the unresolved and the hybrid, in complexity itself.
Ovid creates an endless poem, where stories intertwine and renew themselves in a continuous flow, resulting in a kind of living encyclopedia of ancient fables. Its universal trait lies in the passions and sufferings that run through human beings, making the Metamorphoses a work that speaks to all ages. It is, first and foremost, a spectacle of wonder.
The decision to involve in the Metamorphosis project, a director like Andrea Baracco, who bases part of his path of study and work on the re-proposition of the classics in the contemporary; of the Munedaiko, an ensemble that has in percussion the origin of its performative research; and of a young actress like Nina Pons, stems precisely from the need to constitute a theatrical language that is relevant, specific and original.

(Taiko and Dance)
SUMMARY:
The brothers of the title of Roberto Zappalà’s latest creation are Fuji and Etna, the two volcanoes par excellence in the world’s history and symbolic imagery. Starting with Lava Bubbles 2015 creation conceived for the project In the city the dance, the new creation strongly and vigorously focuses on the relationship between the performance of the company’s dancers and that of the Munedaiko, musicians devoted to the practice and appreciation of the traditional Japanese drum “Taiko” (太 tai 鼓 ko: big drum) where posture, movement and concentration are fundamental. Just as volcanoes are at the origin of the current conformation of the planet, drumming is at the origin of man-made musical and cultural art from the rhythm of the heartbeat. The drums provoke bubbles of sounds, of rhythms that “burst” in the ears and brains of the spectators; rhythms that the dancers follow and provoke at the same time in an incessant flow, a common breath that harmonizes the bodies, with the civilizations of origin and with the civilizations among them, with the increasingly desirable hope today that, as Fosco Maraini says, we can be “imbued with that Confucian oil necessary to lubricate the wheels of civil coexistence.”
